Introduction to HEC-RAS Course Available!

A two-day beginner HEC-RAS course will be hosted by EWRI Chicago Chapter and the Illinois Association for Floodplain and Stormwater Management (IAFSM) this September! The course will cover modeling steady-state open channel hydraulics, culvert crossings, bridge crossings, and introduce more complex modeling scenarios. Each participant will get a hands-on experience with steady flow hydraulic analyses through example problems with the help of experience instructors.
The course will begin on Tuesday September 30th at 8:30 AM and end on Wednesday October 1st at 4:30 PM. The course will take place at Christopher B. Burke's downtown Chicago office at 625 W. Adams St. in a conference room on the 7th floor. You will need to bring your own computer to the course with HEC-RAS downloaded (HEC-RAS Downloads). PDHs and lunches will be provided!

The Stormwater Management Committee is planning to organize at least one hydraulic or hydrologic modeling class this year. In 2024, IAFSM successfully hosted SRH-2D and HEC-RAS 2D. In 2023 we hosted PC-SWMM and FEQ.
