 ent (IAFSM) is hosting a two-day workshop on HEC-RAS 2D modeling at the No
 rthern Illinois University (NIU) Naperville campus. This hands-on workshop
  will provide in-depth instruction on using HEC-RAS for two-dimensional hy
 draulic modeling\, covering both foundational concepts and advanced techni
 ques. Bring a laptop with the latest HEC-RAS software downloaded on it. Pl
 ease also bring your charging cable. Breakfast and Lunch will be provided.
  Space is limited.Instructor ProfileThe workshop will be conducted by Ben 
 Cary\, PE\, CFM\, from Kleinschmidt. Ben is an expert in HEC-RAS 1D and 2D
  hydraulic modeling. He is an instructor in the Kleinschmidt HEC-RAS Webin
 ar series and he is the co-creator of Full Momentum\, a HEC-RAS Vodcast. B
 en is a licensed Professional Engineer in the state of Oregon and a Certif
 ied Floodplain Manager.\nWorkshop ObjectivesThis workshop aims to equip pa
 rticipants with the skills needed to effectively use HEC-RAS for 2D hydrau
 lic modeling. \n\nAttendees will:\n\nLearn the differences between 1D and 
 2D modeling and the new features introduced in HEC-RAS 6.4.1.\nGain hands-
 on experience through practical exercises and real-world project examples.
 \nUnderstand the use of RAS Mapper and preprocessing techniques.\nDevelop 
 proficiency in creating and analyzing 2D models\, including complex scenar
 ios like river restoration and hydraulic structure analysis.\n\nWho Should
  AttendThis workshop is intended for consulting engineers\, water resource
  planners\, and engineers employed by local\, state\, or federal governmen
 t agencies. Participants should have experience in floodplain hydrology an
 d hydraulics\, as well as familiarity with HEC-RAS 1D steady and unsteady
