 fessional engineering ethics. P. Kay Whitlock\, PE\, D.WRE\, F.ASCE will f
 ocus on the responsibility of engineers to serve the public interests abov
 e all else.  We&rsquo\;ll look at professional codes of conduct\, statutor
 y responsibility in Illinois\, the Order of the Engineer ceremony\, compar
 e engineering ethical responsibilities to those of other professions\, and
  conclude with a few examples of the challenge of applying ethics in vario
 us circumstances. Although primarily focused on engineering ethics\, many

 ident\nChristopher B. Burke Engineering\, Ltd.\nMs. P. Kay Whitlock\, PE\,
  D. WRE\, Vice President\, manages multi-disciplinary water resource proje
 cts for Christopher B. Burke Engineering\, Ltd. (CBBEL)\, a full service c
 ivil engineering firm specializing in municipal\, water resources\, traffi
 c\, construction\, environmental\, and mechanical engineering with eight o
 ffices in Illinois and Indiana.  Ms. Whitlock was the water resources lead
  for the Master Civil Engineer team for the O&rsquo\;Hare Modernization Pr
 ogram (OMP) from 2003-2019.  She now handles drainage and water resources 
 permitting for the new terminal development. Kay currently serves as the L
 egislative Chair for the Illinois Association of Stormwater and Floodplain
  Management.  She has made presentations on Water Resources Engineering th
 roughout the United States and around the world\, including China and Leba
 non.  She is particularly interested in professional ethics.  Ms. Whitlock
  is a proud Illini and holds a B.S. and M.A. from the University of Illino
 is and is a graduate of the Management Training Institute at the Universit
 y of Mississippi.  She is a Registered Professional Engineer in Illinois a
 nd a Diplomate Water Resources Engineer.
