·        Key member of WBK’s Water Resources Group with responsibilities in areas of; storm water modeling and design for natural area restorations for rivers and streams, studies and simulations for new and existing dams, stormwater analysis and modeling for linear transportation projects including storm sewer, culvert and bridge design,, stormwater analysis and design for various site development projects, and permitting work through state, county and local jurisdictions.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

·        Complete calculations, create exhibits, and engineering plan sets

·        Able to perform engineering computations and estimates in designing engineering projects

·        Prepares reports and correspondence concerning the direction of assigned projects

·        Reviews documents i.e., reports, maps, drawings, tests, and aerial photographs to plan and design project

·        Independently reviews, selects, and applies standard engineering techniques, procedures and criteria on complex projects

·        Completes various assigned tasks in an accurate and timely manner

·        May devise new approaches to problems encountered for presentation to supervisor

·        Reviews all work for completeness and accuracy prior to submitting to supervisor for review

·        Takes an increasingly responsible role in the management of the projects

·        Plans, schedules, conducts, and/or coordinates detailed phases of assigned project work

·        Works closely with supervisor to gain project management experience

·        Assists in preparing project scoping and costs for proposals

·        Able to prepare complete engineering plans, permits, and reports

·        Able to prepare accurate engineer’s estimates of probable cost for engineering projects

·        Ability to design/engineer challenging engineering projects

·        Demonstrated project management skills are preferred

·        Ability to make independent decisions and supervise the work of other engineers and technicians


  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Civil Engineering
  • PE License Required
  • Proficient in using CAD software (either Microstation, AutoCAD Civil 3D, or both).
  • Ability to perform numerical hydrologic and hydraulic modeling tasks using HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, EPASWMM, HY-8
  • Proficient in using Esri ArcMap and data processing tools related to water resources engineering.
