The Shorelands and Environmental Assistance (SEA) program within the Department of Ecology is looking to fill a Regional Floodplain Grant and Management Planner position. This role will work out of the Central Regional Office in Union Gap, WA.
This planning position involves coordinating community assistance activities with local governments enrolled in the National Flood Insurance Program and providing technical assistance and state support for communities developing or implementing Comprehensive Flood Reduction Management Plans.
This role is responsible for promoting, planning, managing, and assessing the performance of Floodplains by Design (FbD) projects throughout the State. The position also manages the FbD grants awarded to local sponsors for multi-benefit flood projects in the region.
